As of daybreak this morning, the Space Spiral is no longer standing at Cedar Point - and it went down in such an awesome way!

Boom!  That's the end of the Space Spiral.  The park planned it so that the ride fell onto the beach, causing a big cloud of dust, but no other damage whatsoever.  Pointbuzz has a gallery of up close shots of the fallen ride, provided by Cedar Point, that show the results of the fall.

Soon the foundations for GateKeeper, the park's massive new wing coaster, will start to dot the former home of Disaster Transport.
